Amazon adds to its certifications in Amazon Web Services with the first exam aimed at a professional level with the launch of a new certification of Certified Solutions Architect - Professional Level.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has bumped up the number of certifications available with a new exam in their AWS Certification Program, the snappily titled AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional Level.
The new exam adds to the Certification Program launched in April 2013 with a certification designed to validate advanced technical skills and experience in designing distributed applications and systems on the AWS platform.
It’s the first certification created in AWS that qualifies examinees to a professional level, and is intended to go “above and beyond the requirements of the existing Associate Level.” The new AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional Level exam sits above the current AWS Certified Solutions Architect path, (see pic below) and focusses more on the design and development of distributed systems. The certification will be joined by a higher level the Master Level and the certification will be extended out to the Developer and SysOps Administrators training streams.
To be eligible for this exam, candidates must already be certified at the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate Level and should have multiple years of hands-on experience designing and deploying cloud architecture on AWS.
The new certification level is one of four certifications now available through Amazon including;
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
- AWS Certified Developer - Associate
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
