Sage unveils certifications to boost 3rd party development of ERP X3

Sage launches European certification programmes to help  increase revenue opportunities for Sage ERP X3 developers and to kick-start its 3rd party development market

In October last year Sage opened up its two new Sage ERP X3 certification programmes for developers and businesses - Certified Development Professional and Certified Solution programmes  - to the US and they’re now finally available in Europe. The European launch (UK, France, Spain and Portugal, with Germany to follow in the summer) is aimed at helping developers generate additional revenue opportunities, and accelerate third-party solutions to its ERP X3 solution.

The Sage Certified Development Professional Program is designed to enable all types of organisations to certify individuals on Sage ERP X3 development. The certification includes best practice training and skills assessment and competence in customising and integrating applications, and also provides a path for software vendors to certify their own Sage ERP X3 solutions for resale.

The Sage Certified Solution Program creates a new partnering pathway for developers, by enabling them to certify their own solutions against Sage qualification and testing criteria and will be available for sale through Sage’s Business Partner channel.

The first developer that Sage invited to sign up to the new programmes is document management software author, V1 Limited.

“Developers are key to Sage’s success, and we are committed to building long-term relationships with them. These new programmes will serve to expand the Sage Developer eco-system and our growing range of complementary integrated solutions,” said Jayne Archbold, CEO for Mid-Market Europe and chairman of the Sage ERP X3 Governance Board. “By joining the Sage Certified Programs, our customers can be assured that developers are maintaining the appropriate skill sets needed to develop, deliver and support integrated solutions for Sage ERP X3.”

Sage launched a cloud version of ERP X3 in August last year in the US and is gradually rolling it out around the world. The online version has completely new web interface based on HTML5 which supports user personalisation Sage ERP X3 version 7 also offers mobile access and a host of web apps, as well as Microsoft Office integration and a new search function.

The Sage ERP X3 platform was developed using cloud native technologies such as HTML5, MongoDB, Elastic Search, JSON and Node.js.
