Sage’s Salesforce developed solution gets a rebrand

Sage Life now becomes Sage Live and Sage CEO, Stephen Kelly claims this is the start of a real-time accounting revolution for business

Back in May we reported that Sage was developing its Sage Life next-generation accounting package on Salesforce’s Salesforce1 platform, and just a few months later they’ve released it with a name change. The newly renamed Sage Live solution is now live in the US, with availability in the UK and Ireland due to follow at the end of the summer.

Speaking at the Sage Summit in New Orleans  Stephen Kelly, CEO of Sage today described a “renaissance” taking place at Sage, and described the new Sage Live product as “start of a real-time accounting revolution for business.”

The new released Sage Live product is intended to bring front-office and back-office solutions together in a single real-time view with access to thousands of apps, and reflects the feedback the businesses has received since the initial announcement back in May by Sage CEO Stephen Kelly and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff. Sage claims Sage Live will “completely change” the way Small & Medium Businesses are run and how they manage their finances.

Himanshu Palsule, CTO and Head of Strategy at Sage, explained that businesses find it difficult to integrate real-time information with accounting systems, thereby preventing fast and insightful decision making.

"The only way to solve the problem was to smash down the wall that keeps you from functioning as one office," he said.

Sage Live can pull data from third-party business apps on the Salesforce1 platform, and will integrate it with internal company data. Additionally the solution will also push data out to devices like the over-hyped Apple Watch.

Santiago Solanas, global CMO of Sage, said: “This shows the new speed of execution Sage is working to. From conception in January, to availability in July. Sage Live puts your business in the palm of your hand and gives you real-time information that allows you to make decisions based on what’s in the headlights, not the rear-view mirror. This is the start of a real-time accounting revolution for business.”

Sage Live is available on subscription starting at $15 per month per business user and $30 per month per full user for the Sage Live Essential package.
