Ark Data Centres are having a busy summer as they announce another major deal on top of their BT cloud-of-clouds link up. This time it’s the turn of cloud and network provider, Exponential-e, who has signed a seven-year contract with Ark Data Centres. Under the deal Ark will supply data centre space to the businesses power Exponential-e’s cloud services model on a secure layer 2 network, and covers an initial 760 kW data room, with the flexibility to expand as customer demand grows.
Based on a 12-month long evaluation of the UK data centre market, Exponential-e selected Ark Data Centres for the “outstanding security, efficiency, and flexibility of its facilities, as well as its extensive commercial and public sector experience.” One of the main features that attracted Exponential-e to Ark is the low energy costs, Ark claims its data centres are the most efficient in the UK and their location in Hampshire and Wiltshire allow direct fast links into many secure military resources.
Exponential-e will move into the Ark facilities over the summer, with go live scheduled for October 2015.
