Ark Data Centres are having a busy summer as they announce another major deal on top of their BT cloud-of-clouds link up. Under the deal Ark will supply data centre space to the businesses power Exponential-e’s cloud services model on a secure layer 2 network, and covers an initial 760 kW data room, with the flexibility to expand  as customer demand grows.

Based on a 12-month long evaluation of the UK data centre market, Exponential-e selected Ark Data Centres for the “outstanding security, efficiency, and flexibility of its facilities, as well as its extensive commercial and public sector experience.”  One of the main features that attracted Exponential-e to Ark is the low energy costs, Ark claims its data centres are the most efficient in the UK and their location in Hampshire and Wiltshire allow direct fast links into many secure military resources.

Exponential-e will move into the Ark facilities over the summer, with go live scheduled for October 2015. Commenting on the deal Lee Wade, CEO, Exponential-e said. “As a serial innovator, we pride ourselves in designing bespoke technical solutions which meet our customers’ needs, and the Ark’s data centres, with their unique layout and best-in-class technology, allow us to deliver the security, performance and flexibility our customers expect.”
