SaaS content collaboration business Intralinks, has announced it has joined HP’s Cloud28+ initiative, the HP Helion based OpenStack based marketplace of cloud services that brings together European cloud providers, builders, and developers.
The Cloud28+ initiative – aka the European cloud of clouds - is intended to be a European secure data-sovereignty-aware solution that competes with Google/Amazon etc and gives organisations access to a portfolio of cloud applications like Intralinks and those from the other 82 organisations already signed up.
Intralinks have been recognised by Gartner in their magic quadrant report for enterprise file sync and share (EFSS) solutions for two years running believes by joining the initiative it will give it access to new markets across Europe and reaffirms the businesses commitment to data privacy.
Cloud 28+ currently has a European focus, but future plans for the HP Helion Network include expanding the Cloud28+ concepts on a global scale, creating worldwide reach for Intralinks and other providers.
In February 2015, Intralinks announced entering into a strategic technology and go-to-market partnership agreement with HP. Intralinks joined the HP PartnerOne for Service Provider Program and will leverage HP solutions and services to support Intralinks’ global data centres. The company is building its next-generation application architecture for secure content collaboration on HP Helion OpenStack technology. In addition, Intralinks and HP will work together to deliver secure enterprise collaboration and file sharing solutions to customers.
“We’re excited to welcome Intralinks into the Cloud28+ community,” said Xavier Poisson Gouyou Beauchamps, EMEA vice president, HP Helion. “Offering Intralinks VIA as part of the initiative’s app library benefits end customers seeking increased access to secure document collaboration solutions.”
