Real-time big data platform MapR announced a new collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to offer test drives of Dataguise DgSecure, HPE Vertica, Apache Drill, and TIBCO Spotfire via AWS on its Hadoop and Spark platform.
The new MapR and AWS Test Drives for Big Data solutions launched today allows MapR users to launch, login, and learn about its partner third-party big data IT solutions. It claims users can be up and running in “under an hour,” on private IT sandbox environments containing preconfigured server-based solutions.
The solution is powered by AWS CloudFormation and is freely available for education, demonstration, and evaluation purposes and includes a step-by-step lab manual and video showcasing security, visualisation and business intelligence applications with production-ready Hadoop.
Options available include;
- Dataguise Test Drive - Dataguise detects and protects sensitive information on big data applications. The solution allows users to start-up a sandbox with MapR and DgSecure pre-installed and pre-configured. Users are taken through a tutorial of DgSecure that covers sensitive data detection, masking and encryption.
- HPE Vertica for SQL on Hadoop Test Drive - HPE Vertica’s SQL analytics engine helps explore and analyse data stored in Hadoop data lakes. With this AWS Test Drive, users can create a functional three-node cluster and install Vertica’s SQL analytics database co-located within the MapR Hadoop environment. Users have four hours to evaluate and query Hadoop ORCFile formatted data via standard ANSI SQL statements.
- Apache Drill and Spotfire by Syntelli Test Drive - This AWS Test Drive allows users to create dashboards using data extracted on-the-fly using a combination of Apache Drill and Spotfire. Sample data-sets and a demo are provided.
