Jaunt Inc, the industry leader in cinematic virtual reality (VR), announces its full commitment in Europe to bringing cinematic realities to all thanks to its innovative storytelling and platform-agnostic technology.
With a new business office in London becoming its European base of operations, and a growing engineering and development centre in Amsterdam, Jaunt will work with Europe’s leading creative talent to produce VR content and create immersive experiences available across all devices and platforms.
Jaunt combines Hollywood production quality and experience with its state-of-the-art, end-to-end technology solution set. The Jaunt ONE camera, combined with its cloud based rendering and distribution technology, ensures the platform-agnostic distribution approach means immersive experiences can be created for every VR user irrespective of playback device, and allows every brand and IP holder to offer its audiences not just VR, but cinematic VR through a turn key service.
This expansion illustrates Jaunt’s investment and commitment to the UK and Europe - now and in the future. George Kliavkoff, President and CEO of Jaunt, explains: “For some, the thought of opening an office in London in the wake of Brexit may appear like an interesting choice. However, we’re seeing a raft of new partnerships opening up, and an ever-increasing appetite for immersive content.
“We want to be in regions where the infrastructure for VR, from mobile devices to broadband, can deliver on the premium quality content Jaunt is offering. Launching our European headquarters in London shows we’re confident that Britain is still very much open for business.”
Dominic Collins, General Manager, EMEA, for Jaunt, says, “We’re extremely excited to have landed at scale in London. Virtual reality is playing a huge role in the future of technology and brands everywhere are looking to differentiate themselves by creating the most compelling experiences for their audiences.
“Our continued expansion into Europe allows us to further our mission to bring immersive cinematic realities to everyone. At the same time, our teams in the Bay Area and Los Angeles will continue to tap into the creative community and build best-in-class technology.”
Recent collaborations with Manchester City FC, The Royal Opera House and Paul McCartney reflect Jaunt’s continued vision to bring cinematic quality VR to all. Jaunt’s creative-based approach allows content to span many diverse industries, helping it to change the way brands engage with their audiences.
The most recent collaboration with Manchester City FC saw a 360° VR experience bring the excitement of the Etihad Stadium on match day to fans across the globe. Other European clients to date include Unilever and Virgin Media.
Coinciding with the expansion across Europe, Jaunt has already been shortlisted for ‘Best Overall Mobile App (Judges’ Choice)’ in the Global Mobile Awards 2017 at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona. At Mobile World Congress, Jaunt will also showcase its latest VR creations.
To date, Jaunt has raised over $100 million dollars independently, thanks to key investors like Walt Disney, China Media Capital and Evolution Media partners. Ahead of its expansion to Europe the company also welcomed a new CFO and CRO to its executive board in the form of Fabrice Cantou and JP Colaco demonstrating the company’s belief in the longevity and commerciality of VR as a business.
The Jaunt VR App, including all content released to date, is available on iOS, Android, Gear VR, PlayStation VR, Google Daydream, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and major desktop browsers.
